The following walking trails offer itineraries that are suitable for both you and your dog to enjoy, due to the availability of dog-friendly accommodation and the accessibility of the landscape (i.e. dogs are allowed on the trail but may need to be kept on a lead in places). There may still be stiles, livestock and other obstacles to overcome along these trails, so make sure you are fully prepared.
Home to the Cotswolds and England’s capital city, the Central Southern region of England has no shortage of excellent walking trails and amazing stories to tell. England’s famous bard, William Shakespeare, lived and worked between Stratford-upon-Avon and London, while the River Thames was historically instrumental in the development of the area’s industry. Whether you yearn for tranquil greenery, incredible history or thriving towns and cities, the Central Southern region has everything you could hope for.
The south west corner of England is most famed for its dramatic coastal scenery, boasting everything from sandy beaches and rugged clifftops to rare wildlife encounters and bustling resorts. There are also plenty of scenic landscapes to be discovered further inland, offering a refreshing contrast and plenty of intriguing sights to uncover. If you’re looking for a breath of fresh air and new views at every turn, consider a walk in this magical region.
Chalk ridges and hilly terrain dominate the south east region of England, making for excellent walking and breath-taking vistas in abundance. There are countless historical landmarks dotted around the area, each revealing unique insights into England’s industrial and territorial history, as well as an array of bustling towns and villages to explore. While the trails in the south east offer a healthy challenge to walkers, any hard work is richly rewarded by the views.
The England Coast Path is a walk in progress. Once complete, it will be the longest waymarked coastal route in the world, encircling England’s coast. But there’s no need to wait until then to get started. We already offer several legs and we’re eager to add more as they’re finalised.
This region of southern England is perhaps best known for its history, as the area faced plenty of turbulent times during invasions in the past. As a result, East Anglia is littered with castles, priories, earthworks, burial grounds and countless other fascinating remains just waiting to be discovered. The landscape here is also rich in diversity, from secluded woodland to dramatic coastlines and everything in between, offering plenty for walkers to enjoy.
