Customer reviews from the Best of Hadrian's Wall

“This is an iconic trail and very well marked - no chance of going wrong! Weather was good, which helped, but all the accommodations were brilliant and everything went very smoothly. Everyone should do this, especially the middle section, the views are amazing. We've already done many with Contours.”
Mrs Iredale, UK
“We had a great time and everything worked like clockwork. The trip was great and very well organised. It seems expensive, but everything does these days!”
Mrs King, UK
“17th annual walking holiday (1st in 2005) Accommodation good... No issues with luggage transfers or transfers to/from. Good way to enjoy the outdoors with friends. Hopefully we'll stay fit for a few more.”
Mr Jarvie, UK
“We loved the overall walk and the closeness of the history of the place was palpable as we walked alongside the Wall itself. Because of the weather (35.5 degrees on Tuesday) we chose not to walk on that day and instead went to the Roman Army museum and Vindolanda fort. We very much felt that this added qualitatively to the experience of the walk and put much of what we were seeing on the ground into context. It enhanced our walk experience and we would recommend that other walkers are encouraged to add in a day for this. We felt that Contours provided us with reasonable accommodation choices. This is my second holiday so far.”
Mrs Waton, UK
“Loved the sense of achievement whilst having all the logistics taken care of. And having our dog along was even more special. Enjoyed slowing down and getting to meet fellow travellers. Even bad weather days were good knowing there was a hot shower and dinner waiting ahead.”
Mrs Jerman, UK
“So well planned, all admin and communication was excellent. It felt like a personal service throughout, even in the different accommodation. The Holiday Pack was excellent, everything provided, the complete Cicerone book and even a map holder.”
Ms Riley, UK
“I just wanted to say thank you to Contours for putting together another wonderful trip. I am happy I saved the information from my first time walking the wall back in 2015. Thanks again for another great walking holiday.”
Mr Sponzilli, USA
“Well organised. Good accommodation, lots of information, all the pick-ups worked out well.”
Dr Nijhuis, Netherlands
“Very efficiently run, almost everything went very smoothly. Most of the accommodation was very good.”
